Do not park on the grass verge, oil on linen, 60 x 80 cm 2019 was selected to be included in the inaugural Westmorland Landscape Prize Exhibition at the Rheged Arts Centre, Cumbria.
I was very pleased to be hanging next to Lara Cobden.
The Rheged website reads "A brand new exhibition and art prize developed by Rheged that celebrates and interrogates our relationship with the landscape. Selected from over 1000 entries from across the UK the exhibition consists of work by 70 artists. The top prize is £10,000 prize, announced at a special event on 12 September.The exhibition was selected by a panel of eminent individuals from the art world: Cherie Federico, Editor of Aesthetica Magazine; Anne Desmet RA, Artist and Royal Academician; and Hazel Stone, Arts Development Manager for Forestry England. The panel were looking for work which reaches beyond the aesthetic, stimulating thinking and debate about the way in which we exist alongside, as part of, or sometimes in spite of our landscape.The exhibition includes artists from across the UK working in painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture as well as artists working in video and installation."
