Hideaway: poetry and painting from the saltmarsh
Harriet Tarlo and I have received funding from ACE for our project Hideaway: poetry and painting from the saltmarsh.
This is a creative project linking heritage with environment. This time we are especially interested in the relationship between the chalets and their inhabitants and the saltmarsh and dune plants on Tetney Marshes.
It’s towards an exhibition at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre and various contributions to the Fitties festival in 2022. We will also produce a new artist book as part of this project.
This project will use the Alan Dowling archive in Grimsby library, as a catalyst, in combination with fieldwork, and will comparing now and then, dunes and marsh plants and changes in the chalet architecture too … through painting, poetry and public engagement, over the next year plus. Have a look at projectfitties website and facebook page too for updates on events, workshops and exhibitions.
